ABS Frame 4V-type Activated Carbon Filter
Application area
It is widely used in Chemical/Spray Painting Workshops: Removal of VOCs and odors. Laboratories/Hospitals: Removal of harmful gases and microbial aerosols.HVAC Systems: Improving indoor air quality.
Filter Media Materials
We have 3 types Of Carbon Activated Media to meet your needs:
1.Type A: VOC And Ozone,Etc
2.Type B: Acidic Gases(SO2,NO2,H2S,HCL,HF,Etc)
3.Type C :Alkaline Gases(NH3,Amines.Etc)
Activated carbon is the core of the filter, and its type and quality directly determine the filtration performance.
Main Structure & Working Principle
Shell: Usually a vertical tank made of carbon steel (with internal anti-corrosion lining) or stainless steel.
Upper Water/Air Distribution System: Ensures even distribution of fluid or gas across the top cross-section of the filter.
Activated Carbon Bed: The core component. The activated carbon (often granular) is not packed uniformly. Instead, supported by structures like V-shaped screens, wedge-wire filter tubes, or perforated plates, it forms a "V"-shaped cross-section that is narrow at the top and wide at the bottom.
Lower Water/Air Collection System: Collects the medium that has passed through the filter bed.
Accessories: Sight glass, manhole, sampling port, pressure gauge, etc
The efficiency of V-type Activated Carbon Filter
The efficiency are depend on the carbon content ,normally range from 2.0 to 4.0 and they can be selected based on specific requirements. The rational selection of filter efficiency and face velocity contributes to comprehensive economic benefits.

Key Operation & Maintenance Points
1. Down flow Operation: Normal filtration direction is top-to-bottom.
2. Regular Back washing: Aims to remove trapped suspended solids and loosen the carbon bed to prevent compaction. Backwash direction is bottom-to-top. Intensity and duration must be controlled to avoid activated carbon loss.
3. Monitoring Indicators:
Pressure Differential: Backwash is required when the inlet-outlet pressure drop increases to a set value (typically 0.05-0.1 MPa).
Effluent Quality: Indicators like residual chlorine, COD, TOC. Exceeding limits indicates carbon adsorption saturation.
Activated Carbon Replacement: When adsorption capacity is saturated and cannot be restored by back washing or regeneration, the media must be completely replaced. Replacement cycles for V-type filters are typically longer than for conventional filters.
Summary
The V-Type Activated Carbon Filter, through its unique V-shaped bed design, effectively addresses the pain points of traditional filters: uneven flow distribution, channeling, high pressure drop, and low carbon utilization. It is a highly efficient, energy-saving, and long-lasting activated carbon adsorption device, particularly suitable for medium to large-scale water treatment and air purification systems requiring high treatment effectiveness and operational stability.
When selecting a unit, the filter size, activated carbon type, and specifications must be designed based on the characteristics of the medium being treated (flow rate, pollutant concentration, pH, temperature, etc.), treatment requirements, and available system space.
