    Application area
    It is widely used in:
Industrial Environmental Protection: VOC exhaust treatment in spraying, printing, and electronics manufacturing industries (often as a pre-treatment or core treatment unit). Process exhaust purification and deodorization in chemical and pharmaceutical plants. Fume hood exhaust treatment in laboratories.
Commercial & Civil Use: Oil fume odor purification in large commercial kitchens (requires integration with grease removal devices). Ventilation and deodorization in underground parking garages and sewage treatment stations. Odor control in food processing plants.
HVAC Systems: Fresh air purification in high-end office buildings, hospitals, museums, and airports to improve Indoor Air Quality (IAQ), removing outdoor ozone, vehicle exhaust, or indoor decoration pollution.
Special Locations: High-intensity odor control in places like airport smoking rooms, animal housing facilities, and waste transfer stations.
    Filter Media Materials
We have 3 types Of Carbon Activated Media to meet your needs:
    • Type A: VOC And Ozone, Etc
    • Type B: Acidic Gases (SO2, NO2, H2S, HCL, HF, Etc)
    • Type C: Alkaline Gases (NH3, Amines. Etc)
Note: Activated carbon is the core of the filter, and its type and quality directly determine the filtration performance.
    Key Features & Advantages
    • High Efficiency & Broad-Spectrum: Effectively removes various VOCs, odors, acidic/alkaline gases, and some inorganic gases.
    • Simple Structure: Easy to install, maintain, and replace.
    • Moderate Air Resistance: A well-designed box balances adsorption efficiency with system pressure drop.
    • Flexible Customization: Box dimensions, carbon bed thickness, activated carbon type, and fill volume can be customized based on air volume, pollutant concentration, and treatment requirements.
    • Cost-Effective: A relatively economical option for treating medium-to-low concentration, high-volume exhaust gases.
    Core Structure and Components
Box (Casing): Typically made of carbon steel, stainless steel, or corrosion-resistant PP plastic to ensure structural strength and sealing. Usually a rectangular prism shape with flanges for easy connection to duct work (inlet and outlet).
Air Flow Distribution & Support Structure:
    • Front Flow Distribution Screen/Plate: Ensures air flows evenly through the carbon bed, preventing "channeling" (air taking the path of least resistance) and maximizing the use of all carbon.
    • Support Screen/Plate: Located at the bottom of the box or between carbon layers, it prevents fine activated carbon particles from being carried out by the air stream and supports the weight of the carbon bed.
Access Door/Port: Facilitates the replacement of saturated activated carbon media.
Sometimes, a primary or medium-efficiency filter is installed upstream of the box to first remove dust and particles from the air stream. This prevents clogging of the activated carbon micro pores and significantly extends its service life.

    Activated Carbon Media Layer
    Media Types:
    • Granular Carbon: Most common, strong adsorption capacity, adjustable packing density.
    • Honeycomb Carbon (Block Carbon): Low-pressure drop, suitable for high air volume applications.
    • Activated Carbon Fiber Felt/Cloth: Fast adsorption speed, often used in composite filter elements.
Carbon Type Selection: Chosen based on target pollutants (e.g., coconut shell carbon, coal-based carbon, impregnated carbon). For example, acid-impregnated carbon is specifically used to treat alkaline gases like ammonia and amines.

    Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What are the main application areas of activated carbon filters?
They are widely used in industrial environmental protection (like VOC exhaust treatment), commercial kitchens for oil fume odor purification, HVAC systems for fresh air purification, and special locations such as airport smoking rooms.
Q: What types of activated carbon media are available?
We offer three main types: Type A for VOC and Ozone, Type B for Acidic Gases (SO2, NO2, H2S, HCL, HF, etc.), and Type C for Alkaline Gases (NH3, Amines, etc.). Formats include granular carbon, honeycomb carbon, and activated carbon fiber felt.
Q: What materials are typically used for the filter box casing?
The box casing is typically made of carbon steel, stainless steel, or corrosion-resistant PP plastic to ensure high structural strength and proper sealing.
Q: Why is a primary or medium-efficiency filter installed upstream?
It is installed upstream to remove dust and particles from the air stream first. This prevents the micro-pores of the activated carbon from clogging, which significantly extends the service life of the filter.
Q: Can the activated carbon filters be customized?
Yes, they offer flexible customization. Box dimensions, carbon bed thickness, activated carbon type, and fill volume can all be customized based on your specific air volume, pollutant concentration, and treatment requirements.
