    • Comfort air conditioning system optimization filter.

    🧪 Filter Media Materials

We have 3 types of Carbon Activated Media to meet your needs:

    Type A

    VOC and Ozone, Etc.

    Type B

Acidic Gases (SO₂, NO₂, H₂S, HCL, HF, Etc.)

    Type C

    Alkaline Gases (NH₃, Amines, Etc.)

Activated carbon is the core of the filter, and its type and quality directly determine the filtration performance.

    Material Source:

    • Coal-based Activated Carbon: The most common type, made from anthracite or bituminous coal. It has high strength and relatively low cost, making it suitable for high air volume applications and the removal of general odors and organic compounds.
    • Wood-based Activated Carbon: Made from coconut shells, wood chips, etc. It typically has a more developed microporous structure, offering superior adsorption performance for low-concentration, small-molecule VOCs and odors. Coconut shell carbon exhibits excellent performance but comes at a higher cost.
    • Shell/Nut-based Activated Carbon: Examples include peach shells and jujube shells. Its performance falls between coal-based and wood-based activated carbon.
    • Granular Activated Carbon: The most commonly used form, crushed into specific particle sizes (e.g., 4–8 mesh) and filled into V-shaped filter beds. Advantages include a large specific surface area and high adsorption capacity.
    • Activated Carbon Fiber: Produced in felt or cloth form, which can be folded into a V-shape. It offers fast adsorption rates with low resistance. However, it is more expensive and may have lower adsorption capacity per unit volume compared to granular carbon. Often used in specialized applications.

The Efficiency of V-Type Activated Carbon Filter

The efficiency depends on the carbon content, normally ranging from 2.0 to 4.0, and can be selected based on specific requirements. The rational selection of filter efficiency and face velocity contributes to comprehensive economic benefits.

    🔄 Service Life of Filters

As dust accumulates on the filter media, the resistance increases. When the resistance reaches an unreasonable level, the filter must be discarded. Sometimes, excessive resistance can cause previously captured dust to become dislodged and re-enter the airflow; when this risk arises, the filter should also be replaced.

The resistance of a filter increases with higher airflow rates. By increasing the surface area of the filter media, the relative velocity of air passing through the filter can be reduced, thereby decreasing the resistance.

    Frequently Asked Questions
Q What types of gaseous pollutants can the V-type Activated Carbon Filter remove?
The V-type Activated Carbon Filter can remove a wide range of gaseous pollutants, including VOCs (volatile organic compounds), ozone, acidic gases such as SO₂, NO₂, H₂S, HCL, and HF, as well as alkaline gases like NH₃ and amines, depending on the type of activated carbon media selected.
Q What is the difference between Type A, Type B, and Type C activated carbon media?
Type A is designed for VOCs and ozone removal. Type B targets acidic gases including SO₂, NO₂, H₂S, HCL, and HF. Type C is formulated to capture alkaline gases such as NH₃ and amines. The correct type should be selected based on the specific pollutants present in your application environment.
Q Which activated carbon material offers the best adsorption performance?
Coconut shell-based activated carbon generally offers the best adsorption performance, particularly for low-concentration, small-molecule VOCs and odors, due to its highly developed microporous structure. However, it comes at a higher cost. Coal-based activated carbon is a cost-effective alternative for general-purpose applications with high air volumes.
Q How do I know when it is time to replace the V-type Activated Carbon Filter?
The filter should be replaced when its resistance reaches an unreasonably high level due to dust accumulation. Additionally, if there is a risk that excessive resistance may cause previously captured particles to dislodge and re-enter the airstream, replacement should be carried out immediately to maintain air quality and system efficiency.
Q What is the typical efficiency range of the V-type Activated Carbon Filter?
The efficiency of the V-type Activated Carbon Filter typically ranges from 2.0 to 4.0, depending on the carbon content and the specific requirements of the application. Selecting the appropriate efficiency level in combination with the correct face velocity helps achieve the best overall economic performance.
Q Can the V-type Activated Carbon Filter be customized to fit different installation sizes?
Yes. According to the technical parameters, custom sizing is supported to meet specific installation requirements. The filter is well-suited for applications where installation space is limited, including HVAC systems in airports, hotels, office buildings, shopping malls, museums, libraries, and art galleries.
